ACQUISITION of General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division by Greenbriar Equity Group LLC, Berkshire Partners LLC and certain related parties has been completed, the company announced on April 4. It is now known as Electro-Motive Diesel Inc.
The transaction covers all of the Electro-Motive businesses, including North American and international locomotives, power, marine and industrial products, the spare parts and parts rebuild business, and all of EMD’s worldwide locomotive maintenance contracts.
The LaGrange, Illinois, and London, Ontario, manufacturing plants, which employ a total of around 2600 people, are included in the agreement.
