SWISS consultancy Enotrac was to launch an English-language version of its VIS-Carsis fleet management software at the UITP’s Mobility & City Transport exhibition in May. Available on both local area network and over the internet, the software is designed for use by any size of railway.
Lifetime data collection for each vehicle starts with configuration and modification management during construction, followed by weak-point analysis during commissioning and handover. During commercial operation, the system is designed to track and record any failures, preventive and corrective maintenance work, and component exchange.
The system also supports planning, workshop support and cost efficiency algorithms. Modernisation and retrofitting work can also be recorded and analysed. With each part being traced and recorded, life-cycle costing, reliability and maintainability can be calculated.
