POLAND: Infrastructure manager PKP PLK SA has awarded two contracts for main line resignalling, which will be supported by the European Union's Cohesion Fund.
A €30·5m contract has been awarded to Alcatel and Kommunikacyjne Zaklady Automatyki I Teletechniki for work in the Poznan area, including computerised interlockings at six stations along the E20 corridor which will be controlled remotely from Poznan Glowny. Four-aspect colourlight signalling will be installed as part of a programme that also includes track, level crossing and overhead line renewal.
A €31m contract for work on the E30 line between Legnica and Wegliniec has been awarded to Skanska SA of Warszawa, with Bombardier's ZWUS signalling works in Katowice as principal subcontractor.
