UIC Statistics 1997
The latest edition of the UIC statistics covers, with a few exceptions, the period January - December 1997. Countries are grouped into areas such as EU, EFTA, Central/Eastern Europe/ North Africa and Middle East. The tables show network details such as electrification and double-track, traction, passenger and freight rolling stock and staffing. Statistics of passenger train-km and freight tonne-km are broken down by traction type, followed by details of freight carried by type of train and financial balance sheets. The final section is dedicated to high speed operations in Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, along with ATOC (Britain), Eurostar and Switzerland without figures.
