USA: Taking place in Denver, SmartTransit West will bring together industry leaders to discuss the future of regional, suburban and metro rail in North America, and to assess the wider urban mobility landscape.
Organised by Railway Gazette Events and taking place on October 24-26 at The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa in Denver, Colorado, SmartTransit West will outline the opportunities and the challenges facing transport authorities and operators across North America, with a particular focus on the younger city networks developed in the US and Canada in the past four decades.
Attendees will hear from senior industry professionals sharing how these networks have developed over recent years and are expanding to serve both the urban core and cities’ suburban communities.
Industry experts will explore the opportunities on offer from digitalisation and advanced technology and how technical innovation, operational flexibility and a strong customer focus are key to driving growth as the sector recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic. Confirmed presenters include senior leaders from Seattle’s Sound Transit, Los Angeles-based commuter rail operator Metrolink, LA Metro, Boston’s MBTA as well as the Federal Transit Administration.
As the official event partner, local host RTD Denver will be providing a pre-conference tour of its operations, while senior staff members will offer case studies looking at recent initiatives in cybersecurity and safety improvement, as well as an overview of the city’s expanding light rail, commuter rail and bus networks.
