FRANCE: SNCF has awarded Alstom Transport its first follow-on order for Coradia Polyvalent multiple-units under the framework agreement for up to 1 000 trainsets which the national railway signed in October on behalf of a consortium of regional authorities.

The €130m order for a further 19 units was announced by Alstom on January 12, and builds on the initial €800m firm order for 100 units signed in October. The trains are branded Régiolis by SNCF.

The first 119 units are to be delivered in 2013-15 for use on TER services in Midi-Pyrénées, Alsace, Aquitaine, Picardie, Pays-de-la-Loire, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Lorraine.
