OKTYABRSKY Electric Car Repair Plant completed an overhaul of seven coaches for Russian Railways' Alexander Nevsky tourist train at the end of October.
The contract awarded in July covered a number of features which the St Petersburg plant has not fitted to a train before, including satellite communications and a burglar alarm for each compartment.
Three type 47-K coaches for use by passengers were equipped with television and audio systems, air-conditioning, shower cabins, new windows and Ekotol-B controlled emission toilets. CCTV has been installed, along with new door locks.
Staff vehicles were also upgraded, along with the laundry car and a service car which was fitted with a staff shower cubicle.
