On September 17 the Ontario government issued a request for qualifications for the design and delivery of Toronto’s 8 km Scarborough Subway Extension. Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx expect to announce a shortlist of qualified proponents in early 2022. To expedite work the project has been designed as two separate contracts, with the tunnelling contract awarded to Strabag in May.
The Toshkent metro has reduced peak headways on Line 3 after taking delivery of the first five of 10 TMH metro trainsets financed with a 12-year €30·4m loan agreement signed with VEB.RF Corp at the Innoprom trade fair in April. The remaining five trains are expected by the end of the year.

Mosaic Transit Maintenance is to use software from Zedas to manage maintenance of Toronto’s Finch West LRT line.
