The bodyshells for the first of the metro cars that Stadler is to supply to Atlanta operator MARTA have been delivered from Hungary the USA. Final assembly will take place at Stadler’s Salt Lake City plant.
Debrecen transport operator DKV has announced plans to suspend trolleybus operations entirely and tram operations at weekends from January 1 owing to the high energy prices. Tram Line 2’s Kálvin tér – Doberdó utca section will also be replaced by buses on weekdays during school holidays. DKV decreased frequencies throughout the network from November 14 to cut fuel and electricity costs.
Budapest transport authority BKK has exercised an option for 20 more five-section CAF trams to be delivered from September 2024, and has extended the expiry of an option for a further 31 trams until March 18, freezing the price at the 2014 level.
Stadler delivered the first of 25 TINA trams to Darmstadt on December 15, with entry into service scheduled from autumn 2023. The tram was presented at InnoTrans 2022.
NJ Transit has been awarded a $590 000 federal grant to study the long-proposed 14·5 km extension of the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail line in Jersey City. The northbound extension would take the line from Tonnelle Avenue to Englewood Hospital, with seven stops.
