CHINA: Extensions have opened at each end of Harbin’s orbital metro Line 3.
The eastern extension runs from Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University to Taipingqiao, with 15 stations, while the western extension runs from Harbin Xi railway station to Sports Park.
The two extensions opened on November 26 total 19·2 km, taking the line to a total of 24·6 km. They have been were built under the second phase of the Line 3 construction programme.
When eventually completed, Line 3 will form a full circle 37·6 km long with 36 stations.
