RUSSIA: Airport shuttle operator Aeroexpress launched a service between Kazan International Airport and the city’s central station on May 22, in time for the Summer Universiade taking place in July.
Services will use Siemens Lastochka electric multiple-units. Initially there will be four services per day in each direction, with an increase in frequency from June 4. The end-to-end journey time is 20 min.
The trains include spaces for wheelchairs, and both stations will feature lifts, ramps and tactile paving. Assistance will also be offered for disabled passengers from the airport station to the check-in desk.
Kazan is the fourth city with an Aeroexpress service, after Moscow, Sochi and Vladivostok.
