NETHERLANDS: Trial running has been completed for the operation of Nightjet sleeper trains between Amsterdam and Wien from the December timetable change, when Amsterdam will rejoin the network of European overnight trains for the first time since 2016.
Following a tender, Dutch national passenger operator NS has awarded leasing company ELL a contract to supply two Siemens Mobility 200 km/h Vectron A10 electric locomotives to haul the overnight services, which will be operated by Austrian Federal Railways in partnership with NS and Deutsche Bahn.
