GERMANY: Having received no expressions of interest from other potential operators, central Sachsen transport authority VMS has directly awarded DB Regio’s Erzgebirgsbahn an extension to its contract to operate Dieselnetz Erzgebirge passenger services.
The contract runs for 36 months from June 13, and covers three services totalling 1·9 million train-km/year:
- RB80 Chemnitz Hbf – Annaberg-Buchholz Süd – Cranzahl;
- RB81 Chemnitz Hbf – Olbernhau – Olbernhau-Grünthal;
- RB95 Zwickau Hbf – Schwarzenberg – Johanngeorgenstadt.
Service RB37 from Glauchau to Gössnitz has been transfered to City-Bahn Chemnitz.
