UK: Government contributions towards the costs of building of four new stations were confirmed by the Department for Transport on May 15.
The money has been made available through the New Station Fund. This was announced in January, with local authorities, train operators and developers invited to bid for contributions of up to 75% towards the cost of 'shovel ready' station projects.
