NETHERLANDS: The Fyra brand name for services on HSL-Zuid is to disappear from the December 15 timetable change, and will be replaced by 'Intercity Direct'.
Supplements for travel on the half-hourly domestic Rotterdam - Breda services are to be scrapped, but will remain for Schiphol - Rotterdam journeys. Passengers will be able to buy supplement tickets at vending machines on platforms served by Intercity Direct trains.
Hourly Den Haag - Brussels inter-city services will be re-instated from the timetable change, while Thalys is to increase its Amsterdam - Brussels services to 12 a day, with nine running beyond Brussels to Paris.
