NETHERLANDS: On July 18 Syntus formally awarded Stadler Service Nederland a 15-year contract to undertake all aspects of maintenance for 16 Flirt electric multiple-units which are currently being tested ahead of entry into service between Zwolle, Kampen and Enschede from December 2017.
The nine three-car and seven four-car 1·5 kV EMUs were ordered in January 2016. Stadler is to undertake the maintenance at a depot it is building in Hengelo, where it will employ five people. Stadler said this would ensure that the maintenance is performed by staff who are familiar with the EMUs and can ensure that work is completed quickly and cost-effectively.
