GO-AHEAD: The board of the Go-Ahead Group has appointed Christian Schreyer as Chief Executive with effect from the November 5 annual general meeting. He will succeed David Brown, who announced in May that he would retire this year.
To provide a smooth transition, Schreyer will join Go-Ahead on November 1, with Brown leaving at the end of the year.
Schreyer is a German national who has been with Transdev since 2014, most recently as CEO North & Central Europe. Before Transdev he spent more than 15 years at Deutsche Bahn in roles including Head of Corporate Strategy, and he was a member of its mergers and acquisitions committee.
‘Christian’s record of driving efficiency and better service for passengers and clients, his experience of international markets and innovation in urban mobility, will enable our business to respond well to the challenges and opportunities ahead’, said Go-Ahead Chairman Clare Hollingsworth on July 22.
Go-Ahead operates passenger rail services in the UK, Germany and Norway, and buses in the UK, Ireland and Singapore.
