BRAZIL: São Paulo’s Metrô has approved an order for 19 Innovia 300 monorail trains to be supplied by CRRC Puzhen Alstom Transportation Systems. This will expand the Line 15 fleet to 46 sets to enable a reduction in headways and handle the increase in ridership which is expected from planned extensions.
The driverless monorail sets will be similar to Line 15’s current Innovia 300 fleet, at 86 m long with seven 3 150 mm wide walk-through cars. Each car will have four 1 600 mm wide doors.
The cars will have steel floors and extruded aluminium sides and roofs, with water-cooled permanent magnet traction motors.
Line 15 currently runs for 14·6 km between Vila Prudente and Jardim Colonial with 11 stations.
