Praha metro.

CZECH REPUBLIC: A consortium of Metro­stav and Hochtief CZ has won a KC18·7bn contract to build a 6 km western extension of Praha metro Line A from Dejvická to Motol, with intermediate stations at Cerveny Vrch, Vele­slavín and Petriny. Work should start in March 2010 for comp letion in 2015-16.

Two further phases will extend Line A by 6·9 km to Bílá Hora, Dedina, Dlouhá Míle, Staré Letiste and Praha's international airport at Letiste Ruzyne after 2021.

Škoda Transportation is to take over the Line A depot at Hostivar and Line B depot at Zlicín, plus a workshop at Hostivar, to maintain and modernise Type 81-71M trains. The metro will retain the Line C depot at Kacerov.
