COLOMBIA: Infrastructure planning body FDN has awarded Systra and Ingetec a contract to undertake technical feasibility studies for a proposed 3 km elevated extension of Bogotá metro Line 1, which is currently under construction.
Systra and Ingetec will look at options for the viaduct design and the two or three proposed stations, and will update the technical specifications and provided support to FDN during negotiations with Line 1 concessionaire APCA Transmimetro.
The section of Line 1 which is currently under construction will run 23·8 km north-south from Carrera 94 to Calle 72, with a peak capacity of 72 000 passengers per hour.
It is planned that the extension would open at the same as the rest of the line, in 2028.
