CANADA: Calls for proposals for two contracts to build the proposed 67 km Réseau Électrique Métropolitain automated light metro in Montréal are to be issued during the week of November 14, after project promoter CDPQ Infra named the prequalified consortia on November 10.
CDPQ Infra has also published a detailed ridership study to support the call for proposals and project financing.
Bidders are to be given around six months to submit their proposals. Construction is expected to start in spring 2017, ready for the services to begin at the end of 2020.
The requests for qualification for the two contracts were evaluated by technical, financial and legal committees which included both CDPQ Infra and external evaluators. A fourth committee checked that requests for clarifications were not requests for supplementary information, and Knowles Consultancy Services acted as independent auditor.
