CHINA: Hong Kong Chief Executive C Y Leung attended a ceremony at Ocean Park station on December 19 to celebrate the completion of the South Island Line.
Ocean Park is one of the four stations on the metro line which is due to open for passenger service on December 28. All stations will be open for public visits from 10.00 to 14.00 on December 24.
Construction of the 7 km South Island Line started in 2011. It will connect South Horizons with Admiralty, where interchange will be provided with the Tsuen Wan and Island lines, as well as the future Shatin – Central Link. End-to-end journey time on the South Island Line will be 11 min.
