InnoTrans is the world’s leading trade fair for transport technology and takes place every two years in Berlin. At the last event 3,062 exhibitors from 61 countries presented the global rail industry’s innovations to 153,421 trade visitors who came from 149 countries. Sub-divided into the five trade fair segments Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure, Public Transport, Interiors and Tunnel Construction, InnoTrans occupies all 42 halls available at Berlin Exhibition Grounds.

The InnoTrans Convention, the event’s top-level supporting programme, complements the trade fair. A unique feature of InnoTrans is its Outdoor and track display area, where everything from tank wagons to high-speed trains are displayed on 3 500 metres of track.

A closer look at InnoTrans:

InnoTrans on wheels - The Bus Display at InnoTrans offers vehicle manufacturers a combination of a static display and the possibility to demonstrate their vehicles on the adjacent approx. 500 meters long circuit – called “Demonstration Course” - directly in the very centre of the exhibition grounds. Thanks to its prime location in the central summer garden trade visitors to the Bus Display are ideally connected to all other exhibition halls.

Travel Catering & Comfort Services (TCCS): Make people feel good and they will return! Occupying some 15 000 m² hall area (gross), the Interiors segment focuses not only on the vehicle equipment, interior fittings and design field but also on the topic of Travel Catering & Comfort Services. This separate thematic area features all the products and services relating to railway catering products and services. On-board comfort is a key competitive factor for the rail industry in the fight to win (business) travellers from cars, coaches and airlines. Passengers should be able to enjoy every aspect of their train journey.

InnoTrans Campus: The new recruiting format for young talent at InnoTrans 2020! Whether they are computer scientists, economists or engineers, young talent is always in demand throughout the mobility sector. The career concept at InnoTrans helps young professionals to make contact with potential new employers, including the RecruitingLAB, Talent Stage, Jobwall, Career Point and Tours.

Mobility+ is a new subject area at InnoTrans 2020 which specifically addresses the providers of supplementary mobility services. Mobility+ is a new topic within the Public Transport segment, with a focus on shared mobility, combined mobility and digital mobility platforms. Interest in this new subject area is growing all the time.

Another new feature will be the displays occupying hub27, the new fair hall which opened this August. Covering 10,000 m², or approximately 1.5 football pitches, hub27 is one of the largest pillar-free structures in Europe. Passageways which directly connect with Halls 1 and 25 will ensure that the new hall, which houses the Railway Technology segment, will be fully integrated into events taking place at InnoTrans.
