USA: Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority has awarded Cubic Transportation Systems a $6·5m contract to migrate back office system for the Breeze Card to Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.
As part of the upgrade, Cubic will update the back-office software to the latest version of its NextFare package.
Cubic supplied the Breeze Card automated fare collection in 2006, and provides maintenance support to MARTA and its regional partners State Road and Tollway Authority, and Cobb and Gwinnett counties. Breeze Card is currently used for 106 million journeys a year.
