USA: Monterey-Salinas Transit has introduced contactless payment on its bus services as part of the Caltrans-led California Integrated Travel Project to improve travel planning and transit payments throughout the state.
Caltrans is working in collaboration with Visa, payment gateway supplier Cybersource, back-office supplier Littlepay, SC Soft and Elavon.
‘This project is exciting for Littlepay as it’s our first deployment in the US’, said the company’s CEO Amin Shayan. ‘We’re confident it will show small to medium-sized transit agencies around the country that seamless payment experiences are not just for the biggest cities.’
