IRELAND: Zonegreen has installed a bespoke warning system on three tracks used for servicing DART suburban EMUs at Iarnród Éireann’s Fairview depot in Dublin.
The push-button warning system was designed to suit the specific limitations of the Fairview site. High-level beacons and klaxons are used to provide visual and audible warnings of vehicles moving in or out of the depot. Prior to authorising any movements, designated personnel use an operator panel to activate the alarms, enabling their colleagues to move to a position of safety.
The alarm system has been designed to interface with Zonegreen’s physical protection and traceability system in a future upgrading. DPPS uses powered derailers and road end panels to restrict vehicle movements until the required routes are confirmed as clear.
