GERMANY: Braunschweig transport association Regionalverband Großraum Braunschweig has selected Teleste Corp and its local subsidiary iqu Systems to supply passenger information systems for all tram stops and selected bus stops across the city.
Under the contract to be completed by March 2022, Teleste will supply 243 LED real-time passenger information displays and a management system. Each of the stops will also have text-to-speech buttons and loudspeakers to announce the displayed information for visually impaired passengers.
‘The right travel information needs to be available when and where the passengers need it’, said Stephan Brünig, Head of Teleste’s Public Transport Operators business. ‘Investing in real-time information infrastructure ensures that operators will be able to meet passengers’ expectations in an efficient and flexible manner.’
