FRANCE: Paris transport operator RATP has awarded Flowbird a contract to supply 100 ticket vending machines, with a tight deadline for installation at metro stations and tram stops ahead of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games which are expected to bring large numbers of visitors to the city.
The TVMs will accept payment using coins, banknotes, credit and debit cards, and will be able to issue and reload Navigo contactless smart cards as well as selling magnetic tickets.
They will have an audio function for accessibility, a receipt printer and customised casing.
Flowbird will manufacture at least 20 TVMs each month at its factory in Besançon to meet the deadline, and it will also provide hardware and software maintenance.
‘We have a strict deadline, and we’re confident of winning the race’, said the supplier’s Managing Director Jean-Charles Caulier.
