SINGAPORE: Land Transport Authority has awarded a consortium of Siemens and ST Engineering Electronics an S$18·8m contract to develop a rail enterprise asset management system.

The core functions are expected to be operational by mid-2020 on the Downtown Line, with the other lines due to be added in phases.

The consortium will develop a software platform to store and analyse data from various sources: the maintenance management system, the Downtown Line fleet of 92 trainsets, power supply, signalling, communications, integrated supervisory control, trackwork and platform screen doors.

The data will be analysed to monitor asset performance and support predictive maintenance. LTA believes that this can lower overall lifecycle costs while improving reliability, by integrating the data that LTA currently collects through different systems for each metro line.
