RUSSIA: Transmashholding's Oktyabrsky Electric Railway Car Repair Plant in St Petersburg has supplied the city’s metro with an infrastructure diagnostics car equipped with measuring technology from TVEMA.
Based on a modified Type 81-717.5P vehicle, the measuring car will operate with Type 81-717/714 vehicles and can run anywhere on the city’s metro network.
The onboard measuring equipment will be used to identify running and power rail defects, misalignments and other anomalies, so that they can be rectified before causing disruption to services.
