UK: Innovation accelerator Connected Places Catapult has signed a memorandum of understanding to work with the Black Country Innovative Manufacturing Organisation to align future R&D and support UK-based innovators in the transport sector.
The MoU was signed at the Very Light Rail National Innovation Centre in Dudley, which will support BCIMO in the development of a VLR industry as part of its vision for sustainable and integrated transport.
‘BCIMO’s applied engineering know-how and world class facilities, coupled with the Catapult’s innovation expertise and industry network will prove to be a powerful combination’, said Dr Alan Peters, Ecosystem Director Rail & Stations at Connected Places Catapult. ‘As non-profit entities working in the transport sector, we are uniquely placed to develop impact-driven initiatives to tackle some of the sector’s toughest challenges.’
