AUSTRIA: ÖBB has selected a reading light from German supplier TSL-ESCHA for a refresh of the business class saloon on its premium Railjet inter-city services.
According to TSL-ESCHA, the TSL BL18 reading light features a 270 mm long flexible arm that can be adjusted by passengers, and a lamp head which provides a ‘pleasantly illuminated’ reading field thanks to high-power, energy-efficient LEDs and an integrated optical lens. To switch the light on or off, passengers press a push button incorporated into the polycarbonate wall mount, which houses the transformer unit and is EN 45545-2 compliant.
TSL-ESCHA says that the lamp consists of three main parts: the flexible arm and lamp head, the on/off push button with LED indicator, and the wall unit. This offers benefits for ease of maintenance and replacement, the company adds.
