RUSSIA: Sinara Transport Machines’ Remputmash plant is delivering 13 self-propelled PSS-1K snow clearing trains to Russian Railways’ Zapadno-Sibirskaya Railway.
The PSS-1K can clear snow up to 0·8 m deep from a strip between 2·4 m and 5·3 m wide, and transport 460 m3 or 180 tonnes of snow for dumping in designated locations.
A total of 167 PSS-1K units have been built sine 2013, incorporating a series of improvements for more efficient operation.
