FRANCE: Firm orders with a total value of €100m covering the supply of 14 more Coradia Polyvalent multiple-units to the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Grand Est regions were announced by Alstom on January 8.
Bourgogne-Franche-Comté has ordered eight four-car electric multiple-units, known as Régiolis by SNCF, while Grand Est has opted for five Coradia Liner units and one six-car electro-diesel Régiolis.
The orders have been placed within a framework agreement for up to 1 000 units which SNCF awarded to Alstom on behalf of the French regions in October 2009. Firm orders have now been placed for 299 Coradia Polyvalent units, including 235 ordered on behalf of nine regions and 64 ordered by the national government.
