SERBIA: Following an international tender, national passenger operator Srbija Voz has selected CZ Loko to supply two locomotives for shunting at stations and depots.
The EffiShunter 300 locomotives, to be delivered in the first quarter of 2021, will be similar to a pair which infrastructure manager Infrastruktura Železnice Srbije ordered last year for use on maintenance trains. These are scheduled to arrive next month.
The two-axle design is the smallest in the Czech manufacturer’s portfolio. It has a 328 kW Caterpillar C13 engine, AC/DC transmission and a maximum speed of 60 km/h.
‘We are constantly seeking new market opportunities’, said Ľubomír Dlábik, business manager at CZ Loko, when the latest order was announced on February 18. ‘There are two kinds of those: the development of new locomotives and territorial expansion. That’s what we are trying to achieve in the Balkans.’
