EGYPT: Chairman of Egyptian National Railways Mohamed Amer and Transmashholding Vice-President Sergo Kurbanov have signed a €430m, 12-year agreement for the maintenance of the coaches which are being supplied under a contract agreed in 2018.
So far 725 of the 1 350 ordered coaches have been delivered.
The latest agreement includes training local staff and the supply of spare parts.
Maintenance will be undertaken at a depot to be built in the suburbs of Cairo as part of a planned industrial cluster to be developed with international suppliers.
