INDIA: The first of a batch of 40 custom-designed coaches which are being built by the Integral Coach Factory for the Ministry of Defence was rolled out in the presence of ICF and military officials on May 24.
ICF said the air-conditioned coaches have been specially designed to improve comfort for troops, with increased water storage capacity and a reverse osmosis water purification plant. They also feature charging points at each berth, LED lighting, a public address system, emergency windows in each bay, an onboard office, a document safe and additional inter-vehicle power connections.
