PERU: Logistics company Dachser has delivered two 180 tonne diesel locomotives to Lima from the Port of Houston in the USA.
‘Managing all the steps of this type of heavy-lift cargo project can be quite challenging; however, Dachser was able to manage the transport and delivery process without any issue to the full satisfaction of our customer’, said Eduardo Rey, Managing Director of Dachser Peru.
A local haulage company was used to transport the locomotives by road from the Port of Callao to a railway site in Lima, navigating around overhead obstructions.
‘The delivery of these two locomotives showcase Dachser’s project cargo logistics capabilities in Peru’, said Rey. ‘We are honoured to support the country’s rail infrastructure development and are looking forward to working with our Peruvian partners for future projects as this growth continues.’
