POLAND: Zachodniopomorskie voivodship has placed a 100m złoty order for a further five Newag Impuls 2 36WEh electro-diesel multiple-units for use on partially electrified routes.
The additional sets have been ordered using an option in an August 2020 contract which covered an initial two units worth 40m złoty, with options for up to 10 more. The first two were delivered in January 2021.
The three-car trainsets are 59·3 m long with a capacity of 302 passengers including 150 seated. They units are rated at 1·6 MW when operating under 3 kV DC electrification at a maximum speed of 160 km/h, but are limited to 120 km/h when powered by the two underfloor six-cylinder diesel engines with a combined rating of 780 kW.
