POLAND: Newag signed what it said was its largest-ever contract on September 17, covering the supply of 31 Dragon 2 electric locomotives to PKP Cargo for 518·9m złoty.
Deliveries are scheduled for 2019-22. All 31 of the E6ACTa six-axle heavy freight locos will be equipped for operation under 3kV DC and 25 kV 50 Hz electrification; seven will also be fitted with last-mile diesel engines.
The TSI-compliant locomotives will be equipped with ETCS Level 2 and certified for operation in Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
