SLOVAKIA: Several rolling stock renewal projects are being planned at national operator ŽSSK.
This includes the procurement of 20 electric multiple-units for the Košice region, along with the modernisation of 35 coaches and procurement of 17 new coaches; modernisation of 15 Stadler EMUs for the Tatra electric railway; procurement of 15 DMUs for the Čadca – Makov and Kraľovany – Trstená lines; procurement of nine push-pull diesel trainsets for routes from Zvolen to Žilina, Margecany, FIľakovo and Košice; procurement of four six-car double deck EMUs for Bratislava suburban services; leasing of 12 DMUs for operation in western Slovakia; and leasing of seven double-deck push-pull diesel trainsets for the Bratislava – Komárno line.
