POLAND: The Tramwaj Fordon subsidiary of Bydgoszcz city council has ordered 12 Swing 100% low-floor trams from Pesa for 109m złoty.
The metre-gauge trams are to be used on the 9·5 km line to the Fordon district that is due to open next year.
The five-section vehicles will be 30·1 m long and 2 350 mm wide with capacity for 207 passengers. Four 150 kW motors will give a maximum speed of 70 km/h and the ability to handle gradients of up to 6%.
The trams will feature air-conditioning, an onboard ticket vending machine and wi-fi.
