The Indian government has allocated Rs177·4m for Bangalore metro Phase II and expansion of Phase I by 2015.
The EIB is to provide Düsseldorf’s Rheinbahn with a €150m loan for modernisation including procurement of around 40 trams and refurbishment of 100 existing vehicles by 2019.
The 3·2 km extension of Delhi metro Line 6 from Central Secretariat to Mandi House opened on June 26. Delhi Metro Rail Corp expects that 70 000 extra passengers/day will be using Mandi House by 2016. Line 6 is to be extended 6·2 km from Mandi House to Kashmere Gate as part of Phase III of the metro network.
São Paulo State Governor Geraldo Alckmin has signed a €300m financing agreement with Agence Française de Développement for civil works on CPTM Line 13 to Guarulhos Airport. Other funding includes €80m from EIB for eight trainsets, R$250m from PAC Mobility for electrification and signalling, and R$322m from the state. Bndes has signed the R$1·7bn first tranche of its R$4·47bn funding package for metro Line 6 (RG 7.13 p15).
The Philippines’ National Economic & Development Authority has accepted the sole bid from a consortium of Ayala Corp and Metro Pacific Investments to build, operate and maintain the 12 km Manila LRT 1 southern extension.
