AZERBAIJAN: Transmasholding’s Metrowagonmash plant at Mytishi in Russia has delivered a further four of the 12 five-car trainsets which Baku Metropoliten ordered in October 2019 for delivery by 2023.
The Type 81-765.B and 81-766.B vehicles feature a high level of sound and heat insulation, as well as an HVAC system with a built-in air sanitiser that uses UV light to deactivate viruses and bacteria. The LED lighting adapts to reflect the time of the day, while the seats feature ‘comfortable yet durable’ upholstery and USB charging points.
The trainsets have wide through gangways and large doorways to speed up passenger flows, while the end cars provide designated areas for passengers with reduced mobility, bicycles and pushchairs.
Custom features for Baku included the exterior livery, headlight design and onboard information system. The trains have been designed for a 30-year life.
