RUSSIA: A batch of 12 trams ordered by the city of Cherepovets has been completed at the PK TS plant in St Petersburg.
The 574m rouble order backed by the government’s Cleaner Air governmental programme covers 11 single-section 71-911EM Lvyonok fully low-floor, four-axle bogie trams and one 71-923 Bogatyr two-section tram.
In late August the vehicles were inspected at the factory by a delegation headed by Mayor Vadim Germanov and Alexey Kanayev, the Duma member for the Vologda region.
The Cherepovets network is 12 km long, and currently has a fleet of 44 trams of which 32 are operational.
