CHINA: Guangzhou Metro has unveiled its longest train at CRRC Dalian’s factory. The eight-car trainset is the first of 17 that will enter service on Line 13 later this year.
The Type A trainset is 186 m long and 3 000 mm wide with capacity for 3 456 passengers. According to Guangzhou Metro, this is an increase of one-third from the largest trains currently in operation on the network. Interior features include LED lighting and video intercoms for passenger-to-driver contact. Maximum speed is 100 km/h.
The first phase of Line 13 will link Zengcheng with Yuzhu, where interchange will be provided with Line 5. Further phases would take the line from Yuzhu to Baiyun.
