RUSSIA: PK TS was the sole bidder for a contract to supply a total of 114 trams to Moscow operator Mosgortrans.
The order announced on September 8 covers a further 74 Type 71-931M Vityaz-M three-section articulated vehicles and 40 single-section 71-911EM Lionet trams, which are intended to replace ageing stock used on less busy routes.
The vehicles are scheduled to be delivered between January 1 2021 and June 30 2022. The contract is worth 22·15bn roubles, including delivery and 30 years of maintenance.
Meanwhile, the delivery of 390 Vityaz-M cars from a previous order is nearing completion, with 375 now in service.
