SPAIN: Operator ALSA has awarded CAF-owned company Solaris a contract to supply two Urbino 12 electric buses and two charging stations for use in Bilbao. Deliveries are scheduled for later this year.
The buses will have 26 seats and a total capacity of least 75 passengers, with an audio passenger information system, USB sockets in the handrails and CCTV.
If the outside temperature drops while the vehicles are in the depot, a control unit will use the external power supply to automatically bring the onboard air temperature to the specified level 1 h before departure, helping to improve passenger comfort while also reducing the need to draw energy from the traction battery.
