HUNGARY: Metrowagonash has been selected to modernise 222 metro cars operating in Budapest. The Russian company beat six other bidders.
The scope covers 185 Type 81-717/714 cars, 10 Type 81-717/714-2M cars and 27 Type Ev3 cars. Interior and exterior refurbishment will include the installation of CCTV, driver’s cab air-conditioning and forced air ventilation in the passenger compartment, as well as upgraded traction and control equipment. Metrowagonmash expects that the cars’ service life will be extended by 25 years.
The first refurbished car is due to be delivered 265 days after contract signing, with all cars completed 34 months after contract signing.
