CHINA: CNR Dalian unveiled the first train for Dalian metro Line 2 on April 21. It is part of an order placed by MTR Corp in October 2012 for 20 cars for Line 1 and 18 for Line 2.
The six-car Type B trainset is 120 m long, 2 800 mm wide and 3·8 m high, with capacity for 1 844 passengers. The stainless steel body features dark blue styling to match the branding of the line. The air-conditioned cars also include under-seat heaters, LED passenger information displays and LCD screens, and LED lighting, which uses 33% less energy than traditional sources, according to the manufacturer. The maximum speed is 80 km/h.
